Deploy New App via Gilfoyle

Use Gilfoyle/Hermes to pull source, build containers, deploy through Docker or Portainer, and verify the exposed health endpoint before calling the deployment complete.

UrBackup Restore Procedure

Use UrBackup on the secondary host to restore protected systems or files. Verify restored data before returning service to production.

Proxmox VM Provisioning

Create VM in Proxmox, assign CPU/RAM/storage, install OS, enable QEMU Guest Agent, configure network, add SSH access, and register monitoring/security tooling.

Disaster Recovery Checklist

1. Identify failed host or service.
2. Confirm latest usable backup.
3. Restore to known-good hardware or VM.
4. Verify networking, storage, and application health.
5. Re-enable monitoring and document the incident.

Adding SSH Access to a New Host

Add the Hermes/Gilfoyle public SSH key to the target account authorized keys file, verify permissions, restart SSH if needed, and test non-interactive login from Hermes.

PBS Restore Procedure

Use Proxmox Backup Server to select the correct VM backup, restore to the target VM or new VM ID, boot, verify filesystem and application state, then install/enable QEMU Guest Agent if missing.
